Duddridge Wine Associates takes your privacy seriously and this policy sets out how Helen Duddridge, trading as Duddridge Wine Associates, complies with obligations as laid down by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), of May 2018, on how and why specific personal data is collected, used and stored and when it is deleted/ destroyed. WHY PERSONAL DATA IS COLLECTED
- As an Approved Programme Provider and tutor for the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) to satisfy the WSET's requirements in order to register students for a wine course's examination and subsequent certification.
- In invigilating any such examination to verify candidate identity.
- To be able to deliver the best possible course or tasting experience to students or tasting guests.
- To send you information regarding the course or tasting on which you are registered , or have registered an interest in. (If this is by email to multiple recipients then recipients will be blind copied)
- To charge a fee for a course/ a place on a course or for a tasting event.
- To monitor and communicate student progress throughout a course.
- To improve teaching skills, course and wine tasting experiences.
- To communicate exam results and to deliver exam certificates.
- To use information, only with student or client permission, to customise the Duddridge Wine associates website (www.suffolkwinecourses.co.uk)
WHAT PERSONAL DATA IS COLLECTED
- Name.
- Contact information including email address.
- Date of birth and verification of check of identity. *
- Gender *
- Details on any special health requirements that you may have to support a request for reasonable adjustments and special consideration with regards an examination so that you can maximise your participation in a WSET wine course and examination. Such medical requirements must be backed up with a doctor's letter. *
- Student homework and feedback in relation to homework. *
- Exam results and in very rare cases correspondence requesting a check on the exam marking or making a complaint. *
- Student and client evaluations of courses and tastings.
- Specific client requirements for independent Duddridge Wine Associate wine classes and tastings
HOW PERSONAL DATA IS COLLECTED
- When you provide it to Duddridge Wine Associates directly when registering for a WSET course or enquire about a course or wine tasting.
- From you WSET chosen course provider if Helen Duddridge acts a tutor alone.
- When you visit www.suffolkwinecourses.co.uk , cookies (which are small text files) will be downloaded to your computer or mobile device. Your web browser (such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome) then sends these cookies back to the website on each subsequent visit so that it can recognise you from your earlier visit. Cookies cannot be used to identify you personally, cannot carry viruses and cannot install malware.
PROMOTIONAL COMMUNICATIONS
Duddridge Wine Associates do not send "mass market communications" to existing clients or those who have expressed an interest in courses or tastings. Only relevant communication is sent to relevant people who have agreed that they can be contacted. In order to provide a full service on occasion Duddridge Wine Associates must share some of your personal data with certain approved third parties. These include the Wine and Spirit Education Trust, banks and clearing houses used to process cheques and payments, the Post Office to post certificates and Internet/computer software providers to facilitate the sending of emails. When required to do so by law Duddridge Wine Associates would share personal data with law enforcement agencies and regulators. Your information is held in the office of Duddridge Wine Associates and in those of the third parties as described above.HOW LONG YOUR PERSONAL DATA WILL BE KEPT
We will keep your personal data after we have finished teaching/ acting for you. We will do this for one of the following reasons:- To respond to any questions, complaints or claims made by you or on your behalf.
- To show that you have been treated fairly.
- To keep records as required by the Wine and Spirit Education Trust, Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and by law.
- We will not retain your data for longer than necessary but different retention periods apply to different types of data. When it is no longer necessary to retain your personal data Duddridge Wine Associates will delete/ destroy it.
